EuroTransBio (www.eurotransbio.eu) is a long-term initiative launched under the Sixth EU Framework Program for Research and Technological Development (FP6). EuroTransBio project finances projects in the field of biotechnology which aim at supporting small enterprises and providing incentives to these enterprises for enhanced trans-European cooperation.
This program stimulates implementation of multilateral competitions for joint European-Russian applied research projects in the field of Biotechnology, including:
“Red” biotechnology (biotechnology in medicine and public health);
“White” biotechnology (biotech industry);
“Green” biotechnology (biotechnology in agriculture);
“Blue” biotechnology (biotechnology in the field of marine studies);
Biotechnology for environmental protection.
Participants of the project (Funding Parties) include:
1) FFG (Austria);
2) Tekes (Finland);
3) IWT (Belgium, the Flemish region);
4) DGOEER (Belgium, the Walloon Region);
5) DIRES (France, the Alsace region);
6) FZJ Jülich, Germany;
7) MSE, Ministry of Economic Affairs (Italy);
8) The Fund for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology (FASIE, Russia).
A consortium applying for the project should consist of at least two small enterprises from the two countries involved in the project. Research organizations, Universities and large companies can also participate in the project, however project coordination should be carried out by a small enterprise.
The maximum amount allocated by the FASIE to the Russian party of the project is 15 million rubles. According to the rules, the Foundation co-finances Russian party’s projects in the amount of 50% of the grant sum. Application deadline is February 9, 2016.
