New IMI brochure: Carrying the torch for medical innovation

EC issues brochure on first Horizon 2020 results

The European Commission's brochure presents information on the first 100 calls for proposals that closed by 1 December 2014. Some key figures show the extreme popularity of Horizon 2020, which is proved by the enormous number of 36,700 proposals received. Many of the applicants are newcomers – nearly 40% of participants in these first calls did not take part in FP7. The participation of industry and SMEs has increased, largely due to the focus of the programme on the deployment of research results through demonstration, proof of concept and pilot actions.

Priority research topics for EU-Russia collaboration within Horizon 2020

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation has announced topics and calls for Horizon 2020 which are of high priority for the Russian Federation.
Russian researchers and organisations are encouraged to join all actions of Horizon 2020 as consortium members and submit their proposals directly to the European Commission.

At the 30th EU-Russia Summit in Brussels on 21 December 2012, EU and Russian leaders agreed to make 2014 the ‘EU-Russia Year of Science’ to promote EU-Russia cooperation in research, higher education and innovation. In the words of European Commission President José Manuel Barroso, “This year, to be jointly organised across the EU and Russia, will celebrate the vibrant and multifaceted science and technology cooperation between the EU, our Member States and the Russian Federation.
